Randy Johnson Is Afraid of Being Laughed At

In case you missed it, Randy Johnson has returned to the Diamondbacks, and the southpaw pitcher is recovering from off-season back surgery. This of course will mean incessant updates throughout Spring Training including endless reports of pitch counts, long-toss distance, and hairs missed while shaving the neckbeard. But don't think I would let this nugget from the Arizona Republic slip past me,

Johnson said he wanted his early-morning session to be out of view of reporters. "Yeah, in case I'm launching balls over into the White Sox complex," he joked.

Real cute Unit, lol, hahaha.

Seriously though, how self-conscious can you be? What are you afraid of? Worried the big bad ugly reporters are going to make fun of you for looking rusty in your first outing in four months? What, you worried they'll say you're on the road to recovery?

Yet another reminder why Randy Johnson and New York City were a match made in Paradise Valley heaven.
